I love myself today. Not like yesterday. I am cool. I am calm. I am going to be okay. This was a chorus from a popular grunge song of the 1990’s.
Later, one ostentatious singer cries out in the new millennium, "I am beautiful no matter what they say/ Words can’t bring me down/ I am beautiful in every single way/ Yes, words can’t bring me down/ So don’t you bring me down today" Christina Aguilera during her "wild" years.
These are words that have been echoed from one singer to another. It has been taught to us from our mothers, fathers, grandparents and siblings. Teachers, counsellors and even the coach of the local basketball team had made a metaphor or two about it. These words are said in private, screamed to the world or even written on a scrap piece of paper. I am talking about love.

Mike Neece is one of those guys who always has a keen-witted response togive, almost like he can see into the future, listen to a conversation, then get back in time go give himself some leeway to invent a quip to stunus all. I hate people like that! It’s seldom that I can come up withsomething funny off the proverbial cuff. Not Mike. He’s the guy whodecided in the middle of one conversation that, if he ever had a daughter,he would name her Knobby. I don’t remember the context, but, after hesaid that, he was the only one standing up-right.

Ottawa—Students are feeling anxious about their finances and rethinking future plans, after a summer of record high student unemployment, according to a survey released today. The survey, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, reports that over one fifth of students plan to accept work outside of their area of study, almost fifteen percent plan to relocate to find a job and over forty percent have cut back their spending.
“Students are between a rock and a hard place,” said Katherine Giroux-Bougard, National Chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students. “With record high tuition fees and mortgage sized debt loads, students are deeply concerned about their future.”

WATERLOO, Ont. (CUP) – Liberal MP Justin Trudeau told students at the University of Waterloo last week that in the 21st century, Canadians have an "opportunity to rethink a lot of the habits and assumptions that got us here."
In viewing this period of history as a time of transition, Trudeau noted that the role of Canadians, particularly youth, involves "questioning some of those basic assumptions that we make without realizing [it]."
He argued that analyzing the root problems for poor voter turn-out in the last few federal elections is the key to finding solutions that encourages political engagement among Canadians.

The only way to go is up for the Prince George Pride Society, who held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) September 20 at the Ramada Hotel.
Following their most successful ever annual Pride Festival and parade last July, the organization’s president Valentine Crawford expressed hope during the AGM that next year’s festival will be an even greater event.
On his goals, he said, "to make it bigger and better and to shift to a week… We need to keep growing, and that’s a good move."
In order to make the festivities a week long, as opposed to this last summer’s weekend festival, several ideas were discussed during the meeting- most prominently a golf tournament.
Several other goals were discussed during the meeting, including the possibility of partnering with other organizations.
